Wondering if that’s a real car that Ludacris and Tyrece are trying to one-up each other with in “Fast Five”?
Yes, it’s real – and there really are only six of them in the world.
What is it? A Koenigsegg CCX-R Edition. It was introduced at the 2008 Geneva (Switzerland) auto show, by the boutique Swedish automaker.
What makes it so exclusive? It’s naked, unpainted carbon fiber body, for one thing. For another, it goes 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, and has a top speed of 260 m.p.h! And, it also runs on “environmentally responsible” bio-fuels – such as E85 ethanol.
The ethanol (rated at 110 octane) actually gives it a higher power output – 1,018 horsepower! – than a gasoline-only (running on 98 octane) version of the CCX.
The other thing that makes the CCX R Edition model so rare? The price: $2 million.

Hey Jerry – I stumbled across your blog post when I googled “fast five koenigsegg ccxr” trying to find a picture of the cars in the movie for my work in progress blog page. Actually the CCXR Tyrece (sp?) pulls up in is only 1 of 2 in the world CCXR Special Edition (came after Edition) and the other is just a regular $1.4M CCXR. I handle the cars for the owner (facebook.com/supercardetailer) when they need to move anywhere he calls me. I was also interested to read your article about the housing situation in Las Vegas, I’m a realtor in Orlando. Take Care. Jon
